Under the Berlin Wall is a series that I began in late 2025. It marks an important stage in the development of my artistic practice, during which I immersed myself in the work of many modern and contemporary artists.
The series reflects my experiments with reinterpreting historical photographs and archival images. I began by working with blurred black-and-white imagery and gradually expanded my approach to combining text and image. These experiments were not only technical, but also a way of exploring new visual languages.
The Berlin Wall, one of the defining historical symbols of the twentieth century, represents a clash of ideologies and a period of profound political and social change whose impact continues today. Rather than depicting history directly, this series uses historical imagery as a starting point for thinking about memory, representation, and the ways images shape our understanding of the past.
As a transitional body of work, Under the Berlin Wall laid the foundation for my later series About Myself. Many of the visual strategies and working methods that first appeared here became central to the development of that project.
